Research tells us that our target audience responds best to authentic, personal peer influence. While there was national trust in UW’s brand to be the most current, credible source of information on the pandemic, using real students and their real motivations for wearing a mask, we were able to create a culture of care and safety, limiting the spread of COVID-19 among students. Our custom designed UW masks were wildly popular. Retail and corporate distributors sold over 250,000 units in the Seattle region.
